Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how Sviridenko & Partners SIA handles personal data in connection with this website and with the legal services we provide. It also sets out the rights you have over your own information and how to exercise them.
If anything here is unclear, or you would like this information in another form, please contact us using the details in section 12.
1. Who we are
This website is operated and administered by Sviridenko & Partners SIA, a law firm registered in Latvia. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is processed.

Where this policy says we, us or the firm, it means Sviridenko & Partners SIA.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to personal data we process in connection with this website and with the legal services we provide.
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the GDPR) and the Latvian Personal Data Processing Law (Fizisko personu datu apstrādes likums), together with the professional obligations that apply to us as a law firm.
3. Information we process
[This section will be completed before publication.]
4. Why we process it, and our legal basis
Every purpose for which we process personal data has a legal basis under the GDPR.
[This section will be completed before publication.]
5. Cookies
Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work are set when you visit it. Any cookie that is not strictly necessary — including any used for analytics or marketing — is set only if you choose to allow it.
Using this website does not by itself mean you have consented to non-essential cookies. You can give or refuse that consent when you first visit the site, and you can change your choice at any time.
Which cookies we set, what each one does and how long it lasts are described in our Cookie Policy.
6. Who we share information with
[This section will be completed before publication.]
7. Transfers outside the EEA
[This section will be completed before publication.]
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal data for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. After that, we keep it only for as long as we are required to by law or by our professional obligations, or for as long as it may be needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
How long that is in any given case depends on the purpose, the nature of the matter and the obligations that apply to it, rather than on a single fixed period.
9. How we protect information
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risks presented by the processing, taking account of the nature of the information and of current practice. Because much of what we hold is confidential and may be legally privileged, access is limited to those who need it for their work, and everyone at the firm is bound by a duty of confidentiality.
We do not set out our individual security measures here. Publishing that detail would weaken the protection it describes.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights over your personal data. Some of them apply only in particular circumstances, which the GDPR sets out.
- Access — to be told whether we process your personal data and, if we do, to receive a copy of it.
- Rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed.
- Erasure — to have your data deleted, where one of the grounds in the GDPR applies.
- Restriction — to have our use of your data limited while, for example, its accuracy is checked.
- Objection — to object to processing carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest, and at any time to processing for direct marketing.
- Portability — where processing is automated and based on your consent or on a contract, to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to have it sent to another controller.
- Withdrawal of consent — where we rely on your consent, to withdraw it at any time. Doing so does not affect the lawfulness of what was done before you withdrew it.
Making a request
- Write to us at mail@sviridenko.law, or at the address in section 12, saying what you would like us to do.
- We may need to confirm your identity before we act, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.
- We answer within the period the GDPR allows, and we will tell you if a request is one we cannot meet in full — for example where the information is subject to professional confidentiality or to a legal obligation to retain it.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Latvian supervisory authority, Datu valsts inspekcija (the Data State Inspectorate). You can also raise it with us first, and we would prefer that you did.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. The current version published on this website is the version in force.
